Did you know that there are many different types of orgasms that a person can experience?
As someone with a high sex drive and the daily need to release, I wanted to explore what I have been missing out on by attempting to achieve as many types of orgasms possible. I have discovered various forms throughout my years but know that there are more possibilities out there. These 10 are more well known and you can work towards achieving some of them today if you like as there are no special requirements.
Utilize this blog post as a means to deepen your sexuality through exploration and curiosity. I will provide information about ways you can achieve orgasm and talk about my own experience discovering them. An orgasm is an achievable outcome from sex but not a guarantee. By sharing my own felt sensations and experience, it will help you to better visualize and believe in what is possible.
1. Clitoral Orgasm (aka the C-Spot)
On the front of the vulva and underneath a clitoral hood lies the magical clitoris. It is filled with nerve endings and, much like the penis, it becomes engorged when sexually aroused. A 2017 study of over 1,000 women found that about 7 out of 10 people required clitoral stimulation to orgasm during a heterosexual encounter.
This one has been my favourite types of orgasm to experience and the one that ‘cums’ the most easy to me. It started with playful exploration using a clockwise motion and the pads of my fingers. I relied on this technique in my late teens until I discovered sex toys. From that point on I much preferred the vibrations and would use the tip of the vibrator to get me off. Every woman is unique in how much pressure they require in order to orgasm so explore yourself first and then tell your partner how you like it. It is really easy to achieve a c-spot orgasms while having sex with a partner when you use a toy. The G-Spot, which has been referred to as "the female equivalent to the prostate", is located on the inner front wall of the vagina and is believed to be connected to the same structure that includes the clitoris.
When I experience a G-spot orgasm it is obvious to me because it leads to squirting (aka female ejaculation). My G-spot is located closer toward the entrance of my vagina so a couple fingers doing the ‘come hither’ motion hits my spot just right. The skene’s gland and the urethral sponge are located in this area which can lead to squirting but the amount varies person to person. In my experience, I can only attribute G-spot orgasm to when I squirt, which for me feels like what I would imagine a guy ejaculating feels like. I used to mistake it for the sensation of peeing so I use the restroom beforehand and have yet to find a partner who is against being squirted on. If anything they mention feeling proud when they can make a woman do that.

It is possible for women to have orgasms from anal stimulation as well because nerve endings from the clitoris and vaginal anterior wall reach this area. Some women I know even prefer anal sex for the sensation so its worth exploring with yourself and a trusted partner.
I have not experienced orgasm from stimulation of this area alone but I have experienced a more intense blended orgasm when a lover used his finger in each hole and massaged the wall separating the vagina and anus. 4. Cervical Orgasms
Cervical orgasms occur through stimulation of the back of your vagina where the cervix begins. The size of your partner or toy becomes a factor as they need to easily reach this area but certain positions will allow this area to be reached with ease. A word of warning though, the cervix can move to different positions depending on your cycle so deep thrusting can actually lead to painful cramping. If you also have an IUD in I suggest being even more aware of this. It is possible to feel your cervix when you insert fingers toward the back. Methods like the Fertility Awareness Method teach women how to be aware of their changes throughout the month so that they can predict ovulation, periods, and any issues. It’s always better to be aware of our body, especially when trying something new.
When my cervix gets stimulated by my partner it usually occurs when I am in doggy style or when I am lying on my back toward the edge of the bed and he thrusts into me while standing.
5. Erogenous Zones
The body has nerve endings all over, so some people can experience orgasm alone from stimulation of the nipple, pressure on their neck, pulling of their hair, foot and armpit licking for example. All of these are sensitive areas of the skin. Researchers found that skin orgasms are most commonly triggered by music. An easy way to experience this is to notice goosebumps or chills when we hear a really emotionally moving song or hear an intense story. Perhaps that scene in 50 Shades of Grey where he places the headphones over her ears and plays classical tunes is worth the try...
I had a very eager partner explore my body with his tongue and touch and was surprised by the many sensations that I could experience that I never thought I would enjoy. Perhaps it was the combination of the fantasy of having a partner so eager to please, but I will never forget what he did. For example, having my armpit and feet kissed and licked sounded so taboo to me when he suggested it but felt so good that I was shivering in pleasure throughout.
A good way to explore this sensation would be to try teasing your partner through sensory deprivation. I have been including breathwork in my meditation and self pleasure practice but after I tried it with a trusting partner, I had experienced an orgasm that lasted 30 minutes! It was very powerful and healing for me because at times I would want to release through crying, or laughter, or shivering. I didn’t know how the energy was going to move but it was trapped in my body so releasing it in any way felt transformative. My partner at no point judged me or tried to help me. He held the space and made me feel safe to let go.
7. Exercise Induced
Orgasming during exercise is an interesting phenomenon I have heard about but have yet to experience. It makes sense though because the build up of intensity, the sensation of rubbing from running or sitting on machines, and the testosterone filled air, create an ideal environment for someone.
Research conducted to study exercise-induced orgasm (EIO) or exercise-induced sexual pleasure (EISP) also call this phenomenon a “coregasm” because of exercises that induce an EIO originating in core abdominal muscles.
Sexual health researcher Debby Herbenick reported that "The most common exercises associated with exercise-induced orgasm were abdominal exercises, climbing poles or ropes, biking/spinning and weight lifting." Perhaps it is time to switch up your workout routine!
The closest I have come to having an orgasm during exercise was when I went to spin class and was sitting on the narrow seat with my butt pointed upwards so the pressure was hitting my clit while my abs were engaged. I felt close but did not want to release in a room full of people. At this point I am unashamed of this natural phenomenon to occur.
Having you ever experienced a sexy dream where you had an orgasm? Some people call these wet dreams because men and women can release sexual fluids without manual stimulation. One study published in the Journal of Sex Research found that 37% of women have experienced at least one sleep orgasm.
I feel like it’s Christmas Day when my subconscious decides to create dreams around my fantasies and physical pleasure. I can remember feeling very stimulated but don’t recall a full release yet. I am aware of how powerful our thoughts are and have experimented with imagining heat in parts of my body and cold in others. Knowing I can alter the way my body experiences temperature, I know if I focus hard enough, I can induce an orgasm by focusing on a blend of my favourite sensations. I have made a mental note to incorporate this in my next meditation practice.
A blended orgasm happens mostly in combination with vaginal and clitoral stimulation, but the other types of orgasms can be involved as well.
I achieve this most easily with a partner who has a penis size that fully fits my vaginal depth so that my cervix is reached and I need to be riding him in order to stimulate my clitoris and G-spot. You can combine as many of these orgasms as possible for the most ecstatic release and this is what led me to my 30 minute orgasm mentioned above. The nerve endings from the clitoris, the g spot, and the cervix were being stimulated when I was laying on my back, my other body parts were being touched, and I thought about a fantasy situation with my present lover while utilizing my trusted breathing technique.
